Bleue (2017), Lux, Scène Nationale de Valence

Bleue is an immersive, non-narrative installation that transforms space into an introspective experience, inviting the audience into a meditative environment where perception and time seem to shift and dissolve. Utilizing a seamless combination of video projections, mirrors, light, and live camera feeds, the installation blurs the boundaries between reality and illusion, immersing participants in a dynamic, evolving world of fluid reflections and layered visuals.

This work abandons traditional storytelling or textual foundation, allowing viewers to construct their own interpretations within an open, adaptable scenographic landscape. Participants are encouraged to wander, observe, and engage intuitively, making them both witnesses and co-creators of their experience. The interaction of projected images and mirrors enhances a sense of spatial disorientation, evoking memories, emotions, and shifting perceptions of self within the installation.

Bleue leverages the power of light and shadow to create an almost cinematic layering of scenes that appear to move beyond the physical space, suggesting an endless horizon and drawing attention to the impermanence and complexity of vision itself. In this contemplative space, the audience is subtly guided to explore not only the installation’s physical dimensions but also the delicate relationship between self and surroundings, reality and its representations. This scenographic approach challenges viewers to surrender to the ambient, reflective nature of the work, allowing the unfolding visual interplay to evoke personal introspection and a deep sense of presence within a shared yet ephemeral experience.
